I just wanted to find out if anyone had any classy solutions for ultra bright LEDs. I don't really want to be at my devices with duct tape and opening them isn't really an option (moulded plastic that looks like it would snap).
I also need to do this. Was gonna try that 3m sticky tape that is kind of transparent - think that will take the edge off the bright light and shouldnt show up too much!
I used to have blu-tac on every single LED on my PC apart from my monitors when my PC was in my bedroom. All my cases have had a super bright blue LED and the blu-tac has never melted! lol You just need a tiny amount to just cover it and you can make it look very neat IMO.
I was looking to black out my routers and V+ box and amps and everything. These things get quite warm which is why I thought blutac might be a bad idea. I'm not going to be defacing them with permanent marker or nail varnish. I might just buy a cabinet or something, though opening it all the time to use the remote might suck! I've just been using envelopes and random objects to block the light up until now. Not as exciting as I would like!
Agree with a putting on a thin amount of blue tac. I use it for the stupidly bright LED on the GigaWorks T20 speakers which are right next to my monitor.

I like LED's inside my case, just love the look of it.. but outside is a big no no. My case has some outside ones on the fans, but they arent too bright for me.
Easiest way is just to snip the wire then it doesnt draw any power (not like LEDs use much ) but still, if you cant do that then the black nail varnish was a good idea/blu tac also sounds like it works.
