Long time lurker, first time poster....

I find myself at a crossroads regarding a new TV vs monitor choice.

It basically boils down to a OLED 4K 50" tv or a large monitor (3440x1440 / 2560x1440)

I've done all my research into pro's and cons of both regarding their specifications and abilities & if I was using a desk my choice would be a monitor.

However my current setup (and the setup for the foreseeable future) requires me to have the screen wall mounted around 6ft from my seat.

Folks with wall mounted ultrawides or large regular monitors:
  • How far away from them are you sitting?
  • Are you still able to see the finer details?
  • Do you find yourself leaning in towards the screen?
I'm aware it's going to be more than a little subjective but any input would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers,

32" 4k monitor wall mounted approx 2ft from me.
No leaning in
Fine details are perfect, when pixel picking I use magnifier anyway.
Wouldnt change it for the world.. It take a little bit of getting used to the first time you move to a big screen but you soon adjust. Now everything else just feels 'small'.
