Dear Gibbo,
i would very much like the prices for the 8800GTX series GPUs to go up skyhigh. As i would hate to feel that something I brought from your lovely website would loose it's value in such a small time frame...I love you and your site (not man love, just friendly )

Yours,
chaparral

Dear Gibbo, You are amazing. Please Drop the Price of the 8800GTX by 25% and i will sign an agreement to only buy stuff off overclockers for the rest of my life.

Love
Franno

The prices of the 8800GTX cards are probably not going to drop any time soon as Gibbo has mentioned once or twice that they're manufactured to order. The 8800GTS cards will undoubtedly drop as soon as the 2900XT comes out though.

Just thought I'd say it. ;)

Yeah, with the X2900XT looking like it won't compete with the GTX there's no reason to think that prices at the high end will come down much if any in the near future.

Why not get the new card from the red team (HD2900XT)...as it's going be cheaper then the green team 8800gtx....

but they the green team now AMD :p
ATI is still very much alive and well with their own company name and their own brands, working as a subsidiary of AMD. AMD have said numerous times that they won't swallow the company whole or do away with any of their trademarks due to their marketing value.

So there you have it, ATI is very much still the red team. Just thought I'd say it. :)

I thought AMD were called The slow team ;)
Much more accurate. :D

The buck stops with AMD,yes ATI will have so much space but they still on a leash (spelling)so to speak and will be watched very carefully by AMD and have their own people high up in ATI.

That's what I said, they are a subsidiary of AMD as it says here.

They are still there though, and they are still red.
