Just put together my PC, and, well, after around 2-10 seconds after putting the power on it just shuts off.

Using a Hiper 530W Black Type-R Modular

with 2GB ddr2 ram
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
e6300 with stock fan
ati radeon x1950 pro
sata drive

Hope someone can shed some light, I'm tearing my hair out  :(

Edit: Ok, so I've jsut seen the sticky. How can I tell if it is indeed the Mobo, or if its something else.

The RAM is OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

Is the fan on the heatsink definatley plugged in properly and does it spin? Have you got both the 24pin and 4pin power connectors plugged in? Try a CMOS reset...? RAM seated properly? Try one stick of RAM and alternate between the two. Extra power connector plugged in on the graphics card? Just to start you off :)

It spins, but I've just noticed it's loose, but will that make it turn off? It's not hot at all.

If the data wire is loose that tells the motherboard there is a fan there, then yes- it will make it turn off :)

No, you don't need to take it all apart, just unplug the fan wire and plug it back in again and see if that works. You could strip the machine down to just motherboard, CPU, HSF, one stick of RAM and PSU as well and see if that boots. If it does, add the graphics card, if that boots add the hard drive etc :)

I have the same ram as this and with my DS3 it never ran stable,when.. on the odd occasion it did boot.
I sold the DS3 and got an Asus but i thought these probs where sorted with bios updates?

Well, it's working fine now thank god, got windows + everything installed and no problems whatsoever, guess its time to clock it a little now :p

Dunno what I did but it worked thank god, the CPU cooler did have 1 foot out, so maybe it was that, or maybe i just got something right the 2nd build i messed up in the first.

Cheers
