Death Row Records Portrait

Hi guys.

Im wondering how i would go ahead and try and do my very own Death Row Records Portrait

Original seen as here.....

My and some mates wanna do one together as a laugh and my mate wants to get it printed and on canvas to put in his new house

But anyway. I was thinking obviously get a black studio backdrop take each person individually with the correct lighting etc and then photoshop them together and getting brightness and contrasts right in each bit ?

that sound good, or has anyone else got a better idea ?

Take them all at the same time with a black background. Use manual settings and a custom WB that are constant between shots and the rest is a piece of cake. It's simpler to get it right in the first place than to have to fiddle later.
