Deathadder firmware on vista?

Hi guys,

Just received a text to let me know that my Deathadder has finally arrived and is waiting for me to finish work.

However i was reading the mini reviews from customers and it sounds like you have to update firmware using an xp machine before u even plug into vista. Is this still the case as all my machines are vista and would mean waiting a good few days before i can even use the mouse?

Anyone had success updating firmware whilst on vista x64 or is it simply not compatible?

Just recently purchased a deathadder and updating firmware on vista x64 was a non starter. From what I've read though, it was only certain motherboards that had the issue - Asus being one of them.

I can second that the dabootloader hangs and when you close it your mouse stops responding making you having to reboot again on an asus board.

I dont really game anymore and to be honest i still sometimes use my copperhead which is nice for a change but it surprises me that companies still cant get to grips with 64 bit os.
