Deathadder or Copperhead...

So I need a new mouse basically and a keyboard but mouse first, im wondering if I should get a gaming one since most say it is good then I suppose why not.

Now I know the Death Adder is 1800 DPI and the Copperhead is 2000DPI. But the DeathAdder features a 3rd Generation laser? and its more up to date, but I don't know what ones better tbh, and one more thing is it worth buying one of those mice mats, precision mats exact mats etc. Or fine with just my default 4 year old mouse mat?

would personally go for the DA over the CH but only if you are right handed

DA doesn't have a laser - they have gone back to the tradional (and imho) better optical method.

I am currently using a plastic chopping mat as my mouse pad - it has proven more resilient than the Func pad I have used for the past 3 used.
the func tends to wear flairly quickly - I can't comment on the razer mouse mats as I have never used one

the price of the thing puts me off
