Really, Really like my R.A.T 7 but it's the second one I've had after a fault with the 1st and this one has the same issue, although only intermittently. I know rodents are personal preference but I think I've narrowed it down to the Deathadder or a M65 so i guess I'm asking which i would find most similar to the R.A.T?

I've had a Razer DeathAdder 3500dpi for just over 2 years now and it's extremely satisfying. Haven't played with too many mice in the past but I did have a RAT7 and upgraded to the deathadder - despite the RAT having quite a lot of customization compared to the adder it's still a good trade-off.
Software is good and constantly updated, called Razer Synapse.
If you was to purchase a adder, it would still be a upgrade to the one I currently own as that's a 2012 edition.

One thing to mention - I had a problem with one of the thumb buttons on the mouse but after a clean it somehow sorted itself out :)

The M65 though is more like the RAT in terms of customization / weight.
Deathadder is basically get it as it comes.

Cool. So for a similar level of custimation, the M65 is better suited but for feel the adder? I'm not too worried about customisation, as long as the feel is right. I'm a claw grip kind of guy, would that make any difference?

Zowie EC1 Evo at £25 :)

There are also the new Logitechs, but hey, then it becomes personal preference. If you are set on either, then the Deathadder. I wouldn't compare them with a RAT (ewww).

Kinda set on one or t'other. And the Rats a great mouse, just doesn't work properly :)

Personally I don't rate the M65, the shape isn't very good at all and it's got a naff old laser sensor too plus it's heavy. If you're set on deathadder vs M65 it's no competition if you are interested in performance, has to be the deathadder.

You should consider other options though like the Zowie FK1, if you use a claw grip that is the mouse you want provided the lack of software customisation doesn't put you off.

Aye, for clawgrip definitely the m65, the deathadder is a full palm mouse. I had to use them because I started noticing my fingers where curling when relaxed.
Deathadder fits very snug into my palms and fingers. It's around 4inches long and 2 1/2" wide

I've had a look and actually paid attention to what the mouse feels like in my hand whilst I'm gaming and I think I've got some mad hybrid craw/palm grip on the go. More claw i'd say but theres defo some of the RAT resting in the palm...

So confused :) Just going to get a deathadder and see how it goes I reckon.

I had a deathadder a few years ago and now have a M65 tbh both work brilliantly.

just go with whichever you prefer the look of.

I had the original DA, bought it in 2006. I replaced it last month as it started playing up.

Replaced it with a DA Chroma. Great purchase.
