deathadder problems

Hello all,

Has anyone else out there had problems getting the 4th and 5th buttons on their deathadder to work in games. Guildwars just flatout ignores the xtra buttons, as does gothic 3, in sc double agent if i set the buttons to do anything all sammy boys does follow the camera around ( that's weird I can tell you). Neverwinter 2 will use one button not the other
If anyone could shed some light on if its just me and my pc with the problem I would appreciate it.
I have tried assigning as the buttons as different letters as well as my usual shift and ctrl, no odds. but what ever I set them as they work fine with in windows. I will get on to razer support but you guys will be quicker if there is an answer out there. I'm using the 1.03 driver and the 1.02 firmware, I may update to the 1.04 later today, but that seems only to fix one problem. (which I have not yet encountered!)
Xp is os on the system I've installed the razer to, but I'll install it on my vista test box and see what happens then.

a lot of games dun support some buttons.

I noticed it, Guildwars never recognised mine either but BF2142 CS:S etc all pick them up fine.

Im using the Razer Copperhead. I just put it down to the game not supporting 5+ buttons.

thanks for the reply but guildwars has no problem with the extra buttons on my mx18 or intellimouse optical. but perhaps it does have a problem with the razer drivers

hmm, might install guildwars when I get in and have a look.

Like I said I using a Razer Copperhead 9 button and most games fine.

Maybe reinstall drivers.

Check in your razer settins, the buttons might be bound to a razer specific setting and not an actual windows button if you get me.

for e.g DPI up DPI down or profile switching. worth a look.

Gornal, thanks mate but I'm not a total wally I've reinstalled, downloaded from razer, changed usb ports, tried in various other games now and all bar two have no response to the buttons. For my test I set them as A and S (in the razer soft) then assigned A and S in game to strafe left and right.
guildwars, nvn2, and gothic 3 do not react at all to button presses.
Splinter cell double agent (and this is weird) as soon as you set the buttons to strafe, Sam faces the camera and follows it around like a little puppy!!!

Oblivion reads the buttons as 158 and 159 but does respond, until the button sticks and you have to quit the game to stop running sideways AGGHH!!
call of duty 2 seems to work ok as does Dark Messiah ( thought you need to click the buttons a couple of times to kick start them)

In windows the buttons work just fine, whether you assign them to shift and ctrl or letters ( you can write A and S as often as you like in notepad just with your (well, my ) mouse.
My poor girly brain can't cope so I've emailed razer support and hope they can help,
P.S. I also tried it out on my laptop, which I've just given a spanky new install of XP and got the same DOH results

Lol never said just saying anything I can think of. Always chance you didnt think of it, no matter how advanced you are.

Very strange problem how it responds in some cases but incorrectly.
