OK, I've gone and brought a practical car for long distance travelling across europe with large boot space, A 6 month old Vectra 1.9 CDTI (150) SRI.

But with my last Vectra, everyone looks at the Griffin badge, and says things like, 'what is it?, a Skoda??'.

Hmmm very amusing....

Well, nothing against Skodas, but it bugged me a little, so I was wondering if anyone else has ever debadged a new Vectra, and how?.

Thanks.

LOL, I expected a reply like this.

Don't knock em (off the road that is!), they are good work horses that don't attract too much attention, have reasonable running costs, are comfortable and perfect for a family. Yes, we would all like nice sports cars, but sometimes practicality is the prime consideration.

Granted, I'll never be carrying out any uber mods on this car, but a little badge removal and I'm happier. Just trying to find out about it before wishing I hadnt bothered.

Main reason I want to remove the badge is that everytime I wash the car, it catches the cloth, sponge, duster and rips it, and I like the look of a clean panel better than the big round thing on the back.

OK, and the fact that in Poland they think it's some sort of new Skoda!, I admit it, I'm hung up on the Skoda bit!!!!! LOL :D

The front looks like it can't be de-badged, but I have had an idea of some sort of subtle lighting effect, like an eye, but first I need an old projector lens ;) then again, I'll probably just leave that bit as the missus might have some words LOL, how about a subtle glow linked to the revs!. Maybe it just sounds like a bad idea.....

And yes, I do have a new face lift model :) with the improved suspension etc.

Yes, the badge is part of the front grill, and I got a 6month old car with 4000 miles from new, A1 condition inside and out, non smoker, from a vauxhall dealer saving over £6000 on a new one!, Actually 2/3rds of the price of a brand new one!, why buy new!!!.

Granted, I could have bought lots of alternatives, but by the time I finish with this car, it won't owe me anything!, and I actually like them, as a service engineer, I spend lots of time driving long distances, the boot space is great, plus being lanky, the leg room is also great etc..., Hated french cars, they are great if you have short legs and a deep wallet, the servicing etc on french cars is HOW MUCH!!!!, didn't wan't a beemer for the same reason, can't complain about Honda, damn good car, but parts! Ouch!!!. so went for sensible, comfortable and won't attract attention.

Very true, it is possible to get the 1.9 CDTi (120) club in base colour for 10K. Maybe even with the new 'Shark's' nose if you are really lucky.

Dzienkuje PAz :)

I guess I'll wait a bit longer since no one seems to be doing any after grills for the new vectra nose, but I've added lmf... to my favourites, they may start with parts soon.

We get a not so nice chrome -----v----- instead of a nicer colour matched grill.
