Currently I'm running the single 5770 :( and it's alright for the time being but naturally its out of date so I do want to upgrade :D I just don't know what to.

I have a friend who loves nvidia so he's recommended a 560 as they can be overclocked really well (apparently.) But I'm personally an ATI fan. I was looking at getting 2 x 6950's, and then OC them to 6970's.

But my question is.. would you advise me to wait for the 6990's to come out? or should I crossfire the 6950's? or even get a 560 D: There's so much choice ><

thanks in advance,

ahh, are they pretty powerful then?

and when I say the 5770 is okay, I mean for games such as CoD4 (naturally), BF:BC2 and MoH. But there are future games that I am worried about such as Dragon Age 2 and of course Crysis 2.
Just trying to plan ahead ;D Also would my power supple be able to crossfire 6950's if it came to it?

it's the Corsair TX 850w I believe.

Either the 560 or 6950 will be a massive step up from a 5770, Id recomend just buy one of either for now, you could always add a 2nd later if needed, however your board doesnot support SLi, only xfire, so if you think this is a real possibility (adding a 2nd card later) then the 6950 would be the better choice, though tbh by the time youd need a 2nd card, youd prob be as well selling that one and getting another new gen card again

ahhh, okay mate thank you :D
I'll look towards the 6950 then ^_^

thanks for the heads up about my board not supporting sli.

I didn't realise ;D

I'd sell the 5770 and get a second hand 5850 a very nice boost for as little outlay as possible and none of the xfire issues.

Would be cheaper than buying another 5770 as 5850's tend to go for £95-£110.

So you could be looking at as little outlay as £40-£50.

It's crazy that people are paying £70+ for 5770's when I have seen 5850's go for £95.

I know I'm gonna get some bashing for this post but you should get the GTX560. I've overclocked it to 1000mhz on stock voltages and there is yet a game i've tried that it doesn't handle at 1680*1050. What res are you using?

what res you play at ??
i play @1900x1200 on 5770 and have no issues at all with games at this res and high detail...
was thinking about getting 6950 as well but ended up getting second 5770 from MM and will put it into Xfire :)

it will give me enough power to play games at even higher details :)

I will change it once it wont be able to perform on details I would like it to in future games, or once I get 30" screen :)

BTW : is 850W PSU not of a bit overkill for your current setup ? ;)
