Debating over a macbook

Been after a new laptop for a while now to replace my aging one. Thinking off making a switch to a mac aswell.

Hoping to pick up a second hand macbook if poss, ive seen one with a faulty cd/dvd drive and HDD.

How much would I be looking at for replacing these parts, I will also need to OS for it and new charger.

I dont think there is a warranty on it anyway. So I would have to change both parts myself.

Just over 200 at the mo.

Is replacing the CD/DVD a real hassle then?

For not too much more you could buy the lowest spec MacBook from Apple with HE discount. Just ring up and pretend your a student, they don't usually ask for ID.
