so a couple months ago, I tried to install Xubnutu on a second hard drive in my PC.
Not only would Grub not install, I simply got an error saying something along the lines of "Could not install Grub, and without it the system will not be able to be boot. Please report this bug". Annoyed, i tried live booting it, this worked, and i got the desktop environment. I started looking around, when suddenly, the left mouse click stops working. I can still move the mouse and right click, just not left. The keyboard acts normally

Well, I only installed xubuntu out of interest and didn't have an intended purpose, so called it a day.

Well tonight, I tried to install Debian. and although grub and the OS succefully installed, the mouse problem was exactly the same thing happened.

It isn't drivers, since the mouse worked for about a minute before stopping.
Also, afaik, although i don't really know that much about linux, I've installed and used it on other computers, so i don't think its something i'm doing.

thanks

It sounds like a hardware issue, do you have a different mouse to try? Do you have windows installed as well, and does the mouse work on that?
