Just wanted to share this nugget that I've stumlbed across recently!
We've been in the market for ages for a decent and inexpensive solution to give most of our employees debit/credit cards. As far as I'm aware all high street banks charge per card, nothing extortinate but circa £30pa. Enough to add up, and certainly more of a faff to manage.
Challenger banks entering the arena haven't provided an alternative solution, and people like Pleo are even more expensive than the banks.
However I stumbled across Soldo which allows you to create unlimited pre-paid cards, which on their basic plan is £1 for a virtual card, £5 for a physical card and free thereafter. It takes a second to create a Soldo wallet/card in any name once the account's created; each employee doesn't need to do any card of ID or address verification.
Combined with Curve, which is free, you can get your employee's to apply for one of those and add the Soldo virtual card that you've created for them. Wham-bam, £1 per card per employee forever with instant creation (assuming they have a Curve, or if not they take like 2 days to arrive) in their name with no waiting or ID/address issues.
