Why do you hate it? Is it possible for your yo avoid the things you hate? Can you go away for Christmas etc

Yeah I'm looking forward to January.

Not all of December is bad. But Xmas is not a happy time.

January means Xmas is over. The days are getting longer and spring/summer is on the way

It helps that my work becomes really quiet for that week (the clients mostly close) so for me it's practically being off

Christmas is a truly awful and stressful time for many people, something I experienced as child and it's never really left me, even though things are much different as an adult.

Plus, it's so forced and fake and repetitive; I just can't abide it. Is it possible to avoid it? No, it's everywhere. In fact, out with this lovely safe space of a thread, it's not even socially acceptable to admit that you hate it!

I don't mind December, February is the worst for me, as it's still normally petty cold and by then you've well and truly had enough of the dark miserable weather.

We have mandatory closure over Christmas so I have to take 23rd Dec - Jan 7th off whether I want to or not.

I don't have a problem with Christmas though, it's alright. Just came back from the city centre and all the lights are up and it's snowing heavily, looks pretty cool.

I’ve no problem with Christmas but I’m one of those people who tries to hold on to the strange notion that December and Christmas are not the same thing.

For me Christmas doesn’t start until I finish work for the year and those few days between Christmas and new year when I can just have complete down time and do whatever I want with no other pressure is one of my favorite times of the year

The need to have everything all decorated and festive already isn’t something I understand, Christmas is still weeks away, why can’t people wait until then to actually celebrate it?

I used to love the winter, but these days, I hate it.

I've realised that I do less in the winter, because of the cold.

I grew up loving Christmas, but these days there seems little point to it.
