I'm not fussed about overclocking it, just want it to be good quality and perform well.

it's going in a SUGO so i'm not clocking anything anymore :(

i've had g-skill before so was thinking about the pc5300 low latency kit they do for about £176?

if i bought the pc6400 stuff, would it just lower the speeds to the 266FSB required?

only advice i can give is dont buy geil 6400, too many people having too many problems with a certain batch, including me

lol what the.

i have geil 6400 and it runs like clockwork its ram that a few years ago i could only dream of some one creating. now i have it and its awsome

had geil RMA'd it on arrival due to it being borked and wouldn't run stock timings on stock speeds! got some Team Xtreme and not looked back
Now he knows what he's talkin about :D

If your not interesed in overclocking then perhaps the crucial 10th anniversary would suit you as you'd benifit from its 3-3-3 timings :)

everbody overclocks in the end and once you change that fsb and get your first successfull overclock, it's a slippery slope from there on in, next you get a high performance heatsinc - then you get a water cooling setup - then it's off to the world of phase cooling - and after that who knows maybe Ln2?

*trust me i too once said back on my 3500winchester that i won't overclock, 2 weeks later i had it up to 2.55ghz maxed out lol then 2 weeks after that she had been traded in for a opty 148 ;) the pattern continues to my current setup and my watercooling setup coming next week ;)

been there and done it though. I've got a pc75 with water cooling at the moment. 146 opteron at 3.0ghz on stock volts.....

bored of it though....just want a nice little case and a solid machine. Going for the girly route of a sugo. :p

saw that....may end up going for it.

Not for the overclockability but more for the great timings and saleability should i want to change in the future.

would the timings really help over say a 3-4-3-12 set? (G-skill pc6400 kit)

Yeah just been there and done that lol!

After building two little HTPC type machines (quiet) all I wanna do is buy myself the biggest case I can get my hands on lol!

You could get any 2GB kit really, although overclocking aside you may see a tad better performance if u get a kit that can do low timings *cough*crucial*cough* :D

Apart from that I suppose the only other thing to pay attention to would be the kit that can run on the smallest vDimm so thats another little source of heat turned down in your small case . . .

If your going to keep your fsb to 266 you can really tighten the timings up. i remmeber Jokester has had his running 2-2-2 270mhz+ 2.4v with active cooling.
About halfway down this page

This is why I chose Cellshock over Team, infact my order did originally have the Team Xtreme, changed my order on phone before it was shipped! :)

3-4-3-4 @ 1034mhz - 2.3v (Cellshock 2GB 1000mhz C4) :p

I'm praying my set do this lol!
