Currently using the new black BT home hub, and while it's a pretty steady performer I need something thats a bit quicker at shifting data round my home network
Does anyone use, or can anyone recommend a decent home router with a few gigabit LAN ports? Most I can see are FastEthernet

Between my NAS (and soon to be home server) I'll be moving gigs of data daily. Last night it took 30 mins at least to transfer 7gig from my laptop to my NAS :(

Yeah I considered that but it's already quite messy cable wise so I was hoping to consolidate the switch into a new Router/Modem setup :)

Still, it may come to that :)

7GB in half an hour is ~30Mbps, so it sounds like you're not even maxing out the network connection you've got.

well 30mbs would be good if it's wireless g ;) Be aware though, if all you need is faster lan transfers it'd be simpler to simply buy a gigabyte switch, plug it into the hub then plug everything else into the switch. I know it's messy, but dedicated switches usually perform better than ones in routers.
