The GF's family are looking to save some space in a redecorated room, by using a TV as a PC monitor. As far as I am aware most monitors don't have things like an aerial or built in freeview/freesat, so going down that route isn't really an option? If that is the case, is there a particular make of TV that does especially well as a PC monitor? They have an old Satellite dish no longer being used on one side of the house which is why I mentioned freesat.. Alternatively I could sort out a tv card for them but I would imagine they are looking for a simpler solution.

Be aware that with most all in ones you cannot add functionality or if there is the option that you can't simply stick a PCI(-E) tv card in because they're working with laptop form factors.

As for a TV that's well suited for PC use, a little while ago I adviced the Sony Bravia EX720 to someone in another thread (read the thread as to why).

Theres an record player, amp and speakers also to be set up in there, so not worried about that side of things. I know the GF's brother uses the PC to play Arma so didn't want to advise something that would be horrendously bad to play on, it does seem that the Samsung/LG 27inch offerings would do the job quite nicely. Usually I would just advise them to get a half decent Panny/Sony LCD but from what I can see they suffer a bit on response times.
