Hello all :D

Is there a decent bit of software out there for Mac that can give the system a good clean out?

All the history, old junk files, make sure everything is in the right places etc?

I'e done a search but I have no idea if the sites google finds are a load of junk or not.

Thanks for any help!!

I've tried a couple of different ones but tbh I don't think you need to. I've read more bad things than good about these sorts of programs for Mac so I'm staying clear in the future.

I use CleanMyMac. CMM is pretty good for uninstalling applications. Normally you just drag apps to the recycle bin and consider it done, but they often leave a lot of crap behind in the library, so you have to go into the library folder and search for whatever you might have just uninstalled that way and clean up left over files. CMM you just drag and drop and it hunts for what might be left behind. Occasionally it misses something, but not often.

I also use CleanMyMac. It helped free up some hard disk space on my aging PowerBook and kept on using it.

Deku – What are the disadvantages?
