I'm on the hunt for a couple of dedicated servers that run on the EPYC platform and was wondering if anyone could recommend a company that offers this service? Ideally, they would be based in UK datacentres.

Not necessarily the best option for traditional dedicated servers but Amazon AWS uses Epyc for their new setups.

I used to use rapidswitch.com quite a bit in the past - don't think they do any Epyc provisioning and I kind of went off them, though didn't have a problem with the service from them, when they sold off a bunch of customers to a 3rd party who weren't very good.

Thank you for your reply. I can't use Amazon AWS unfortunately as I want to start my own VPS company so I really need bare-metal servers. I don't mind if the company doesn't offer AMD EPYC but I just want a reliable dedicated server host based in the UK.

What’s your budget/connectivity/support requirement? Can you give us any other information on what spec/hardware you want/need? Depending on budget/needs you may even find it more useful to rent your own space and put your own hardware in it if you have a suitable DC locally - sadly that varies massively in cost/connectivity depending on where in the UK you are and if it’s only a few U then you’re likely stuck with a reseller rather which can make things more difficult.

My budget is between £200 and £300 per server. My main requirement is a lot of CPU cores and RAM with NVMe SSDs in hardware RAID 1 or RAID 10. I want to pack the virtual machines as densely as I can.

I live in Surrey so there are a lot of big datacentres near me but I wanted to try out the business idea first before I went ahead and bought some servers outright. I'm not sure if people are going to be interested in my idea so I'd rather rent for 3 months or so to see how it goes.

Edit: 10Gbe ethernet would be good as well.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm still on the lookout for a decent UK dedicated server host. I've lowered my expectations about what I can get in the £200 to £300 price range, but I do need something reasonably soon. Any help is appreciated. It also doesn't need to be AMD EPYC.

If you want to test, OVH will do you a dual Xeon 5118 with 96GB and dual 500GB NVMe for £256.99+VAT in the UK on a gigabit connection, no set-up and rolling contract. A reseller should be able to get you better contract pricing and throw in premium bandwidth etc.

OVH seems to be recommended where ever I look so I guess I'm going to go with them then. I'll probably need two or three servers to start with.
