Hi all,

I've just ordered a new iPad 4 64GB wifi/cellular and I'm looking to protect it. I don't really want to use it before I've put a screen protector on it. I'm also looking for a decent case.

Anyone got any recommendations for either?

Also on the Cellular one, where does the sim card go in? Is it accessible without taking it out of the case?

Many Thanks,

G

I wouldn't bother with a screen protector, pain to fit and the glass is pretty resilient. I use a apple smart cover on my 3rd gen and its perfect!

I got a case set off ebay for £8.00

Hard green back shell
Green smart cover
Cleaning cloth
Pen so dnt need to touch screen.
Screen cover (not used as pointless. Screen is only out when using not gonna scratch it then.)

I put a screen protector on mine the other day. I don't have a smart cover. Although I have now ordered one as the back cover I use (the gel skin one) lifts the edges of the protector.

It's a really nice protector though. Called Gorillaguard. Not cheap but by much better than any protectors I've put on my iPhone before (I've used silqshield and terrapin and some cheap non-branded ones). It's nice. And easier to fit than I thought.

However, I've just had the back case on since I got my iPad. I've left it like that all around the house. Whenever I take it anywhere else I just put it in a jiffy bag. The screen after 6 months is absolutely perfect. Not a blemish. Applying the screen protector would have shown any up.

So I'm taking it off once my smart cover arrives. Pointless. And means you cant use the best back covers. If you're that bothered about keeping it pristine, I'd recommend the Lifeproof nuud. I have the iPhone version and it's great. I'll be getting one for my iPad at some point in the future for in the bathroom waterproofed up.
