Decent flying battle game?

Why they have never released a game called top gun is beyond me!!..... Any way is there a decent action packed flying war game?

The DC series on Steam is good but can get expensive. The ILStromvic (sp) series is also worth a look, one f them was on sale in the steam sales recently.

ACe Combat Assault horizon for the dumb OTT cinematic action. Flaming Cliffs 3 for more realistic but not full sim dogfights in modern jets. War thunder is about WW2, not modern stuff with missiles.
