So i know this shoudn't be here, but it could go in either Sound City or Home Cinema & Hi-Fi, so i'll wait for a don to decide.

I've tried Juice, seems the most popular, didn't do it for me.

Doppler stable release better but still lack of features...

Doppler beta 3.something EXCELLENT, but totally unstable on my computer.

Then i thought i shouldn't be relying on beta software, there must be something else out there that i can use, but there isn't! There isn't a single dedicated podcast solution that isn't a pile of tosh... Integrated download of enclosures, and the ability to play them from within the software or navigate round (rather than using file explorer).

Good space savers, ie deletion of podcasts over x days, or keep folder 'x'mb's in size, or have x number of files in a folder etc...

Doppler beta did all this, but it refuses to run properly or update all my podcasts and i shouldn’t expect a beta to be perfect. So is there anything else out there? This is hopeless, in the age of the podcast there is sod all!

I'm also looking for a decent podcast client and so far I've found nothing. You could try using Shout Wire in Winamp. I managed to get it to subscribe to the 1Up Yours podcasts I've been listening too.

I'm avoiding iTunes, really not a fan, i don't want to install quicktime, i don't want all of iTunes bloated interface, basically no iTunes...

Uninstall quicktime straight after
Bloated interface? Folders on the left, files on the right... doesn't sound bloated o me

WinAmp and VLC is my combo of choice for media players, with a Podcast plugin I found for WinAmp. Between them, they handle any file format I've come across, means I can uninstall the bloatware that is Windows Media Player as well.

There's very little about.

Juice kind of works for me - but then every now and then it suddenly decides to download a whole load of back episodes of one of my subscribed feeds for no apparent reason... The cleanup only seems to work intermittently as well.

I tunes is not a lot of good if you want to sync up to a non-apple portable - at least until the EU gets on their case.

Still, 90% of the time I can do what I want to with juice and sync automatically to my windows mobile with media player\activesync.

Far from perfect though.
