Hey guys,

I wondered if anyone here can recommend me a decent headset mircophone and speakers to do some gaming with.

i used to have a plantronics set but they broke :(

Needs to have padded ear pieces and be around the £30 mark

I use the Creative Fatal1ty headset. It's ok, only cost me £17

+1, the ear cover can feel a bit uncomfortable for a bit but after a week it doesn't even bother you, the Mic is perfectly clear and the Audio is good. I'd highly recommend it.

got myself these few weeks ago, can't be more satisfied :)

Great quality, can be on for hours and you don't feel it, and the microphone quality is superb.

Edit: Ops, not sure they fit your budget. :D

go for a quality stereo headset.. I've got both surround sound headphones and stereo and tbh its very hard to tell the difference, except for the hole in my wallet

If you're willing to spend a bit more get a set of sennheiser hd555 and a separate mic, really comfortable and amazing quality and will last you for years. Before this i had a medusa 5.1 headset and they were rubbish, really tinny rear speakers and they picked up lots of stray electrical and radio interference, mobile phones, cordless phones, routers, everything.

got the same, and for 50 odd quid i was unimpressed. Rear speakers are very poor and bass is very poor.

+1 for the Creative Fatality headset, I honestly dont think you'll find a better set for the money.

You either had a faulty set or didn't have the settings quite right ( or they've screwed up the new ones as mines a few years old now ), the bass on my medusa is awesome, in fact the first time I played BF2 I wasn't quite prepared for the commander artillery raining down and the bass almost shattering my ear drums. Music just sounds great on this and the neighbours don't complain bout excessive bass
I'd recommend the medusa, had mine a few years now and still enjoying it, very comfortable over the ears, even if a bit heavy

dutchman- was this the progamer edition or the cinema one? ( the one with the mini amp) because afaik theresa difference in quality between them
