Was wondering if enyone could point me in the direction of a decent mouse mat for competitive fps use (mainly battlefield 6 when its released) to go with my viper v3 pro, the one i currently use is a massive rubber type akasa venom that ive owned for years, would like a large mat and would like it to be fairly fast.

The one im using at the moment seems a bit gritty when using the mouse and i can feel a little drag.

All recommendations greatly received.

Thanks.

Oh would like to be able to buy in the U.K please, would rather avoid buying from overseas

I'm struggling at the moment to find something that ticks all the boxes - for some reason the one with the perfect surface don't have anti-fray/stitched edges so the edge quickly starts coming undone. Highly recommend anti-slip bottom surface as well - as a surprising number aren't.

Thanks for reply

The one i have at the moment ive owned for over 8 years and its still like the day i bought it lol its massive though and can easily fit my keyboard and mouse on with room to spare.

Its more a rubber type mat than a stitched one though and its holding back my viper v3 loads, get like a gritty feeling when sliding the mouse and i would call it a slow mat overall.

Would like something faster, still large although dosnt have to be as big as this monster and a good price for what it is.

Does it exist? i guess it wouldnt take to much to be better than my big old rubber monster but im not clued up at all when it comes to brands and quality of mouse mats.

I mean it’ll depend if you want a speed or control pad. I prefer control and my favourite is the Saturn Pro. They’re all so different though, that’s just what works for me.

Edit: you answered my question whilst I was typing it haha.

Yeah I’d try a Saturn Pro.

If you are happy with very large - the Razer Gigantus V2 is one of the best balanced speed/control surfaces I've found, but lacks any kind of anti-fray edging, which may be less of an issue with something which covers most of your desk.

Thank you for your replys, will have a little google now, yes, i want something quite fast but not stupid, need to be able to control the mouse but i want it to feel smooth in action if you know what i mean.

Will check out both mats now, thanks again :)

I've been using Titan Wolf desk topper style matts for awhile now.

Non slip backed, cloth with stitched edges to stop fraying becoming a problem, and cheap as chips at less than £15-20 coupled with a ton of different designs. They work really well for mouse tracking and are super easy to clean, my current is going on 4-5 years old and is like new, I give it a once over with a cheap carpet spot cleaner brush/bottle type thing I bought for a fiver every 2-4 weeks.

Used to be a big Icemat advocate back in the day but I just don't get on with hard surfaces anymore.

Thanks for reply, just ordered a matt now, but may look into ordering one of these also as the one i got was on sale so can try 2 for the price of one lol

Had a look at the razer and some reviews, seems just what im looking for so ordered one from a local store that i can pick up tomorrow, was in large size though not xxl so might fray over time, but was on sale for under £12 so couldnt resist lol

Thanks again for help

I took a punt at one due to a sale myself and was genuinely surprised at how good they were for the price, I realise some people get on with different surfaces but they've been ideal for my needs and I'd rate the quality on par with or better than matts which cost 2-3 times as much.

Will defo be trying one as well as the razer as they are under £14, decent size as well.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Corsair MM350 PRO Premium Spill-Proof, Stain-Resistant Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad (93 x 40 cm Surface, Micro-Weave Fabric, 4 mm Thick

All you'll need.

The TITANWOLF ones are half the price and just as good but they don't come in as simple a theme as the Corsair.

Well, have been using the razer matt all day today and......... i quite like it, its quite smooth ( much smoother than my last matt) and i seem to be able to control my shots better /easier than with my old matt.

Going to try the titanwolf as well at some point but so far im enjoying this razer matt, plus its cheap as chips!

I've used the Steelseries QcK prism mat for a while... the mat is decent and lighting effects are cool BUT the reliability of the lighting is awful from my experience it just doesn't last so I've given up on them now

I've been using the Wallhack SP-004 and it feels really good. It does attract dust so you need to give it a wipe every day but no hitching with with my Logi PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX.

Well ive been using the razer gigantus v2 for a while now, im really happy with it, still smooth and faster than my old mat, my razer viper v3 pro glides across it nicely and my aim has defo improved using it.

Dont think i will need anything else until this one is ruined, honestly cant believe how good it feels for under £12, great mat, still might try a titanwolf at some point though as they are pretty cheap also.

To think, nearly spent out on an artisan like my mate did, let me see it and have a quick slide of his mouse across it, yes it was good, but nothing much better than my razer for me, hes refunded it already lol.

The Razer Gigantus is an excellent pad, especially for the money.

Perhaps the only item Razer sell without, well Razer Tax on the price :p

Jack of all trades, balanced pad… smooth and controlled yet firm so also feels a little fast once you get going.
