Hi,

Wondering if someone could suggest a decent pci gfx card to run on a intel p4 (2.8) with about a gig of ram. Pc is mainly for browsing and playing games like football manager, command and conquer, rome etc.

Cheers

Will have to double check that (don't have the pc with me currently), not entirely sure the model, but it will be a HP board - Intel 915G Express

No more than a 8800GT I would say, else you will be bottlenecked by your CPU.

+1

got a pentium D 3.4ghz at home and gone from a 7900GS to a 9800GT only had a 10% increase on frames in gpu intensive games and ¬2% on cpu intensive games.

that cpu will be greatly bottlenecking any gfx above a medium 8 series card

I'll see if I still have the details, but I seem to remember that anything faster than an X1950Pro made little difference.
