Hey all, I've just downloaded GIMP so that I can create my own sigs and do a bit of photo editing now and again, nothing major, just light usage. I know GIMP isn't exactly the best but it's free, and at the moment I haven't got the money to buy Photoshop or Fireworks, at least not until I get my student loan through.
So what I'd like to ask is if anybody here uses GIMP and if so where would be the best place to head for tutorials for an absolute beginner? I've had a play around with the interface myself and I'm just completely lost, I can't even look in the toolbox and see what's what because to me it's just a confusing array of icons.
I've headed over to the official GIMP page as I thought that would be a good place to start but the only tutorials I can find were absolutely rubbish and just took for granted that the end user has experience of GIMP, being told things such as "Blur the image, a gaussian blur would be a good place to start". What? Where do I do that? etc...
So I'm just asking for a good source of tutorials, I've tried Google and it's throwing up a lot of Windows tutorials, even when I specify Mac in the search.
Help would be very much appreciated. Cheers.
