Does anyone know of a half decent Gopro or simular device I can use as a dashcam, dont really want to spend more than £100 but want to avoid all the cheap tat on fleabay etc.

Cheers

Presumably because of price.

If you want to spend less than a £100 you are going to have to be looking at eBay to be honest.

Careful on ebay though - check feedback thoroughly, my dad recently bought a Go-Pro alternative and the battery would never charge. Another one had a SD card slot that SD cards wouldn't go into

When you say Go-Pro to use as a "dash cam" do you mean you want a sports camera for filming specific events like track-days etc (Drift HD, Go-Pro, Contour HD etc - all £100-400) or an accident cam like the Russian dash cams which record constantly on a loop and automatically saves a 1-2 minute clip when there's been an accident (£50-100)?

There's a thread in the Motors section about the Russian dash cams which is very informative if that was what you wanted.

If it's a sports camera then I've used all 3 of those I listed and I found that the Drift HD series suited my needs best (rotatable lens etc) although all 3 were very good. However none are suited to being used as an accident dashcam due to battery/memory usage filling up within 3hrs at most!

Funny enough I was just looking at alternatives....

Came across two at the £100ish mark....

The 7dayshop action cam branded with waterproof case etc, but not many reviews and so far been negative in picture quality.

However check out the "Liquid Image Ego 727 Full HD Action Camcorder" for about £106..... It can be controlled via your android or iphone too as it has wifi built in.

I am still doing my research too, just wish it did 1080p higher than 30fps. Both do 720p at 60fps though.
