I fancy getting tucked in Doom 3, never played it when it was new. I see many mods are dolling it up. Are any of the graphical mods any good, and if so which make it look nicest?

All the reviews/updates I've read are pretty old.

Personally I thoroughly enjoyed Doom 3. I thought the atmosphere was great, the weapons enormously fun, and the enclosed space made a great change (going back to the old school!).

The expansion wasn't so great, but still worth a play through.

Can't wait for Doom 4! :)

Either the screenshots are just really bad quality but that actually looks worse then normal doom 3 lol. The floor texture looks so out of place they might as well put sand there with a little pool in as well

It looks much better in game.

Also if you like Doom 3 you want this:

The entire 'Knee Deep in the Dead' Classic Doom chapter rebuilt in Doom3, and it is sweeeeeetah. :D

Thanks for the tips, will install at the weekend. I agree the graphics still do look good, but there's no harm in a bit of additional (tasteful!) eye candy.

Nice thread timing, i was just abut to start playing Doom 3 through again. Is there any more information on the GTX mod? the webpage is pretty sparse.

The Classic Doom mod that HeX posted is awesome, well worth playing.

The classic mod is a good one, made a nice change from the feel of doom3 - which I still thought was a good game, just not a game made the way I was expecting.
