I need to buy a handful of 2m HDMI cables (ideally 1.4b), not bothered about them being branded QED ones etc, just reasonably priced cables that will last.

Ideally need them rushed to me too :-D 4-5 2-3m cables that'll last for < £50 (available via 24hr deliver if possible ;))

Sigh... What are people doing with HDMI cables that they need them to "last".

The last time I left one of my cheapy HDMI cables in the bottom of a monitor and I accidentally put the monitor down on the floor (without a stand) it bent the HDMI socket in the monitor and never hurt the cable in any discernible way.

Just get as cheap as you can find, get the exact lengths you need for each run and then replace them if you need to move something and get different lengths.

If you're not moving something around then you don't need cables that will "last", and if you are moving them around then you'll probably be surprised by how quickly someone can break a cable no matter how "reenforced" it looks.

Digital cables is probably the one time that the mantra of "buy cheap, buy often" has worked quite well for me as I've never actually had a cable fail and buying them cheap means I don't begrudge buying a replacement cable that's the exact length I require rather than having a cable that's 5m too long.

I've been of the same opinion for years but I've had no end of problems and time wasted tracing faults back to a cable that's weakened over time (even when not moved) particularly with setups that are tidy and hidden away.

Wasn't after anything to sit along side my £10k Ethernet cable, just a reasonable quality, cheap cable that'll do the job for a few years.

For short runs I think the £5-10 mark is ideal, I've had numerous cables sub £5 fail on me and a couple just fall apart at the end. Those were generally not completely static mind you. I did spend £30 on a hdmi once but it was a 15 meter run ;D

Just looking at the 'jungle' basic ones and they look alright for the money £7.50 for 2 which doesn't seem bad

OcUK sell a range of HDMI cables, but I just buy any old cheap crap ones.
Literally no difference. They only die if I bend the cable at the connector joint, but then I just bin it and buy a new one. I would expect expensive cables to be the same tbh.

definitely need to spend at least £10k on a hdmi lead the diamond connectors make all the difference:p
I agree with the rest look on the jungle cant go wrong really.

hdmi king, kabeldirekt, etc are the ones you should be looking at from the rainforest place.

blue rigger looks like they replaced kabeldirekt. ibra looks like the new hdmi king.

to give you an example kabeldirekt do a 5m cable for £5.99.

so a brilliant 2-3m cable should cost you about £4 max.

you don't need £50 for 4-5 cables less than half that would suffice.

You've got a £10000 Ethernet cable? :p

What... the... sorry, I'm out - you're beyond help.

eBay > Search "HDMI [length]m" > change options to UK only > sort by lowest price inc. postage > buy top one.

Been doing it that way for years with no issues.

I do think some of the cheaper ones lack structural integrity, but apart from that there is no reason to go crazy town on buying HDMI cables.
