Looking at getting a laptop soon, selling the desktop as I don't play games anymore so might as well just get a laptop. Would be alright if it's able to play games, but looking at around the £5-600 mark. Any ideas? Cheers.

For £600 i just bought the following:

SONY VAIO VGN-NR21Z/S
Vista® Home Premium
Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T8100 Clock Speed: 2.10 GHz 2nd Level Cache: 3072 (think its a penryn core)
3GB DDR2 SDRAM
250GB 5400rpm SATA
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT - 128 MB
Size: 15.4” WXGA X-Black LCD 1280 x 800
802.11 a/b/g/n (draft n)

It hasn't arrived yet so cant say how good or bad it is but i'm pretty impressed with the spec :)

For £550 I got the following-

Dell Vostro 1500
Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4 GHz Penryn
3GB DDR2-667 ram
8600M GT 256 mb (ddr2)
250 GB 5400 drive
XP Pro
1440*900 screen with TrueLife
etc

More than up to some light gaming. The 1500 has more or less been replaced by the 1510 now but the 1700 can still be had with similar specs as above I think.
