Decent mouse and keyboard?

hey everyone,

real simple help need, just need help to choose a decent keyboard and mouse.

i do a lot of gaming, so i need it to be a bit of a gamers keyboard, but i also do a lot of graphic's work so i need the mouse to be exchangeable between the two.

im not sure if i want wireless or not, depends what comes up and my budget total is £60, i know its a bit tight.

Saitek Eclipse and Logitech MX518? £5 out but it is worth it. I would reccomend getting a mouse mat though (for opticle mice) so it moves smoother and there is no slight ripples to effect the tracking.

I was going to recomened the Logitech Ultra-X keyboard, but it's no longer available from here. It's still available else where though, and it's around the £15 mark. I love the slim keys which feel great sound equally good. Don't be put off by the low price point, it's a good quality keyboard that has lasted me around 18 months and hasn't put a foot wrong ever. The Speedlink Ultra Flatmetal keyboard is similar to the Ultra-X and I've heard good things about it on these forums, so you may want to look at that as an alternative. There is a backlit version if that's your thing, but that vversion will be over half your budget.

As for a mouse I use the G7 which I love, but if you don't want a wireless mouse, or if it would push you over budget then the G5 is the same just corded.
It glides very nicely over the desk and the on the fly sensitivity adjustment is great, especially with a large monitor. High sensitivity for windows desktop, and medium/high for games. The MX518, and Razor mice usually come with high recomendations too but I've not used those so I can't comment. I did look at the razor pro when I got my G7, but the cordless nature of the G7 won out in the end.

Personally I wouldn't get too bothered if a mouse didn't have 2000 dpi as I find 1600 is more than enough, and I often drop it down to 1200 in games. 2000 is crazy, I'm not sure if I'll ever get used to that
