Considering Downloading GRID off Steam. Can anyone suggest anything better? I can run most stuff, specs of PC below :)

Would type would you prefer a sim, arcade or something inbetween?

For me, as Arcade racers, Flatout 2 and Trackmania United Forever are MUCH better than GRID.

For a Simulation (Many will disagree), I am a sucker for the Simbin games.

I have not really played many racing games on the PC, but GRID is loads of fun in my opinion so comes recommended from me. Note you will have loads more fun with a joypad or a steering wheel if that is your kind of thing as apposed to just a keyboard.

What I really liked about GRID was you could make it exactly as hard or as easy as you liked with all the tweakable difficulty options, so you are always guaranteed a good race if you are consistent. Piling on the difficulty gives you extra points, so the pressure is there to push your racing skill to the limit while still having fun.

Though GRID and Trackmania are very different games there both excellent and well worth adding to your steam folder :)

Grand Prix Legends still gets my vote, put 60 odd hours in on your own / against computer then race online and wonder how people are 4secs a lap quicker than you :D

Heh, 4 secs, and the rest:)

seriously though, you're not worried about graphics, grandprix legends, a must just to experience how cruel it can be.

Aside from the Iracing sub, nascar 2003 and it's ton of road racing mods is also a good call, online a full field of cars on an oval is great, but there's plenty of road and track you can download for it, if thats not you're thing.

Grids great too, i bought it for the ps3, better played with a pad in my eyes, easy pick up and play multiplayer.. it's worth anyones time at the cheap price you can pick it up for now, dirt the same 6 quid retail in the supermarket.

And there's rfactor, not allways my favourite, but lots like it, the bmw m3 mod is a highlight for me.
