I like the whole free roam, build levels, skills, etc...

Are there any current games (I know skyrim is out in 2 months) that are any good?
I've got Oblivion as its just epic, but Im not too knowledgable on PC RPG's.

I wouldnt mind abit of online action, as long as it isnt just killing each other.

Witcher 2 is the most recent, its I'm lead to believe a shining star of the genre. Although I have not played it.

Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect 1+2, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas are all very good.

Ah if you want online, try Dungeons and Dragons Online.

Its free to play so no harm in trying it out. It's a bit different to other mmo's where you just click the taskbar to hit things, in this game the combat is done with the left mouse button.

I like DA and ME1/2 (Own all on console), not a fan of Fallout for some reason.
Ill have to try that witcher, see if it will tide me over for 2 months.

Thanks :)

EDIT:
D&D has never interested me, but if its free, no harm in trying :)

The Witcher 2
Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 1 & 2 (Sci-Fi world)
Deus Ex : Human Revolution (a lot of FPS elements)

Online ones include
World of Warcraft (Currently free upto level 20)
Rift
Age of Conan

There's loads more ofcourse.

Although not an RPG but contains a lot of RPG elements, Starcraft 2, awesome story great intermissions and an epic stratagy game.

I used to play WoW, but lost interested when I left school....mainly due to driving and having that recurring charge (if you wanted to keep playing).

If you liked Oblivion then the sequel, Skyrim, is out this November :)

Divinty 2, better than everything listed so far in this thread. Easy is great for casual gamers even though you still have to think about fights, whilst normal is seriously well balanced difficulty where you have to think about all fights and "pull" enemies away from groups to kill them without dying. Hard is only for the utterly insane :P

Its also 2 games in 1 with the first half of it (about 35 hours playtime if you dont detour too much) playing as a dragon slayer who becomes a dragon knight who is a hero capable of tranforming into a fully fledged fire breathing dragon, with its own armour and abilities, at the click of a button.

The second part leads on right after the end of the first game.

Theres 3 main choices when it comes to combat with ranged, melee and magical being the 3 choices. Yes this is less than most games out, but you can actively change between all 3 when it suits you or you get bored of a specific role. The games choices also affect the storyline and what happens to people in the game world or the world itself.

Highly recommend it, best game I've played in years.

+1 for Divinity 2 (The Dragon Knight Saga version), just finished it and easily the best rpg I have played in years. Easy to get in to, humorous and so very polished with great attention to detail.

the witcher 2 is great, seems quite tricky at the start but once you get used to what the spells do and how the alchemy system works it seems like a great game! best looking game ive ever seen aswell!

nice deep mature adult themed story which you dont often see in games! theres a few cutscenes where you dont want mum walking in! its not computer porn i swear!! :D

nice talent build system too where you assign points to progress geralts skills in 4 seperate paths like magic and sword etc, 100% recommend this title to anyone, i havent really played the original and still find the story to be followable!
