Hi!

I know this a (Very poorly) disguised "Spec me" thread however it is hopefully not a lame "spec me a toaster" style one.

What I am asking is if any of you know of anywhere that sells decent CD storage that isn't bog standard racks (Something that is rather nicely designed) but one that would be easy to increase in size or is modular.

I am a big music lover - and have about 300 CDs but I buy more each week and it is constantly expanding. I am after some CD storage that is:

  • Quick to access
  • Stores different sizes of CD case
  • Possibly modular for an ever increasing collection
  • possibly not a straight forward design

I know it is a bit lame to ask - but I am currently using a bookcase and there is so much wasted space! I have looked around the usual furniture shops and they all seem to have standard "50 CD Racks" which I know wouldn't hold anywhere near my collection both in quantity and CD case size - and are plain hideous!

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Rich

What about removing them from their cases and putting them in a few of those massive folders (the ones that take 8 cds or so per 'sheet' (4 per side) ).

If you want to keep the cases however, I dont know, 300 is a lot. Perhaps just put up a lot of shelves, then add more as required? Thats what I do for books.

Mine are on a bookcase, but they only take up a quarter of the shelf roughly (counting depth and height) and seems such a waste! CD racks pretty much base their sizes on that all the CDs will be stand jewel cases - which some of mine aren't.
