Hey

I'm after a decent rally demo I can try b4 I buy!

Any ideas? I played Xpand Rally, the one on steam.. (i think)? I really liked that one, any others out there?

Thanks, Kris

Richard Burns Rally is still the best rally game on PC. Google for the demo. Its only a couple hundred meg. You really need a wheel tho.

RBR is by far the best Rally game on the PC.

It might play ok with a 360 pad, you can use both triggers as analogue throttle/brake, so left foot braking would be possible where it wouldn't if you only had one stick I suppose.

Don't expect to be able to just pick up and play though, the Rally School is there for a reason :)

colin mcrae rally games are usually the best and most advanced. I quite liked v-rally on the psx and i think theres a pc version.

What he said. RBR is both the most rewarding and most punishing rally game around.

Wait for DIRT, really does look good
does look nice but likely to be quite arcadey as they're unlikely to divert much from the feel of the older CMR games. RBR is a totally different beast and offers a stunning experience if you can get your head and fingers round the handling. Still looks fantastic as well 2-3 years on.

Old but Gold. The Magnetic Fields Rally Championship from 1999 has just been re-released on budget and updated for XP. Before you scoff at a 8 year old game, this was a definitive title in the genre. Today's hardware can run it at maxed out detail. Some of the courses are over 20 miles long and all based on real locations from the GB Rally. Also, unlike some other rally games, you don't need to come in the top five etc. to move on to the next course. The emphasis is on keeping your car in good enough shape to make it through all of the six stages of each individual rally (and there are six of them).

Failing that, then RBR obviously or wait for Colin McRae Dirt which is due out next month.
