Hi

What is the best RAM to go for these days. I'm in need of 16GB DDR3 (2x8GB to allow space for a future upgrade) to go into my new system which will mainly be used for VM's and gaming. I've had no end of problems with the RAM i'm currently running (DDR2 dominator RAM which I've had 4 sticks go faulty in the past 5 years) so would like something reliable this time around. I just went through and managed to knock every set I was looking at on the head for one reason or another. I would like to order today as prices seem to just be heading up.

^the geil black dragon ram linked is the 2x4gb version. there is a 2x8gb version of that floating around the £60 mark in 1333 and 1600mhz. i've got the 1600 2x8gb black dragon and it does the job no probs. ironically i got it for the same reason as the op and i still havent got around to getting CAD onto my machine yet....
 
What CPU and Board??? These questions need answering before firm recommendations can be made.
