My parents computer died and I'm fairly certain it's the motherboard.
The motherboard was an Asus P4P800SE. I've looked around everywhere and can't find any for sale so I need to find a decent socket 478 motherboard to replace it.

What are the best socket 478 motherboards to look out for?

Hi GSdog

cause we cannot name companys on the forums . do a google.co.uk put in the search socket 478 motherboard and there is a UK company selling them.

hope that helps u

You can post a wanted ad on the MM for a 478 board, there's little point in buying a new one that I see. I had a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro and it was a cracking board for the money at the time.

P875 or 865PE chipset were very good socket 478 mobos, Asus P4C800 (E) (Deluxe), P4P800 or P4P800 E Deluxe... but I doubt you'll be able to get hold of any of these.

I expect there will be a fair few Asus P4P800 series boards on the bay, they were popular at the time.
