Decent sound is the last on the list

Ive always preferred headphones to speakers, bought a 7.1 surrond sound speaker set for my pc when my headphones broke, but quickly went back to 5.1 headphones, to me i prefer the noise to be as close to my ears as possible and can have as loud as i want without annoying anyone else in the household. I know many will say that headphones are rubbish espically 5.1 but to me they sound better.

I used to have a pretty cheap 5.1 system from a competitor that I bought for use with my PS2, however my Dad has somehow managed to steal it! Even though it's not the best, it was amazing how much of a difference it made.

Currently using terrible TV speakers for games and films and have been for some time, the worst thing about it is that I don't even mind that much anymore. I think it's about time I bought that Onkyo set everyone's been talking about, or at least the Z5500 deal for £200.l

I have a nice 5.2 surround sound system. bit unusal but i prefere the setup as all the base doesn't just kcome from one place (its a store bought pacage, not something id bodged together before i get any coments)

When I was a PC user, and particularly when playing games like Counter Strike, I always did that with a good quality pair of Sennheiser headphones (540 refs). Really did make a big difference to the game.
I have to say that the sound and visuals are now the primary reason that I use my PS3 in preference to my PC. My PC is in the study with a decent 22" screen and headphones. The PS3 (also being a BD player) is in my lounge with the main AV system. So when the option is 22" vs 120" screen, and headphones vs processor/power amps/speakers, there's not a lot of competition.
Have to say that games like Borderlands, Fallout and GT5 really do come across well using a full on AV system.

There are several kits that are superb.. Dont think you will beat the Onkyo Kit here http://www.richersounds.com/product/1-box-home-cinema-systems/onkyo/hts3305/onky-hts3305-blk for the money or sound quality.. I had the older version and it worked fantastically.. I have still got the same speaker kit up upgraded the amp to the SR607 for the extra HDMI and DTS-HD/Masteraudio... :)

Glad you rate the Onkyo systems! I just purchased the model above the link you showed - Onkyo HT-S5305B - for £279 delivered. I think the main difference is that the subwoofer is active rather than passive (hence better sound quality and easier upgradeability).

Can't wait to try it!

What sub is that? I get problems with glass rattling too much when I put more than around 400W into my sub, the glass makes lots of unwanted noise! :(
