I have a tower surge protector currently sat on the top of my desk and honestly, I want to change it. I'm looking at getting a 6 way extension to screw to the back of my desk in order to remove some of the clutter but not sure what would be best suited to the job.

I've found this - Dewenwils 6 way surge protected extension lead on the rain forest but also considered something like a 6 way rack mount extension to screw to my desk at the back, it might just be big enough to reach both sets of draws.

What is everyone else using/recommending? Have you found a decent 6-8 way surge protector?

That Dewenwils is definitely toward weaker end in its abilities and no doubt also doesn't do much for EMI with lack of room for good filtering circuitry.

APC Performance SurgeArrest 8 PMF83VT-UK would be more like it.

Belkin BSV804af2M would be another one especially if you would find that USB power useful, though MOVs are weaker ones.
They seem to have also more of higher up models, but not sure if those are available with UK sockets.

I current use the APC Essential SurgeArrest 8 (PM8-UK), easy to plug in and out. The two problems i had with it is hiding the long cord length (2m) and tightening up one of the socket plug wires (it was loose). I notice this by touching the back of the socket and found out it was getting warmer depending on load. Other than that i have no problems with it; been using it for around 3+ years.
