decent tests for the not so well trained eye?

so finally got my new rig and monitor all hooked up and raring to go. ok well the keyboard and os should arrive in the morning but then i really am ready to go. i know it's more a personal thing for a lot of people but seeing as this is my first as far a decent monitors or (gaming) rigs go, i want to be sure i'm getting the most out of my monitor and not ignoring any of the large number of options for fine tuning/adjusting. the model is the samsung bx2450, not of one of your fancy ips panels perhaps but no slouch either! (..at least i hope)

anyway, enough of my waffling. can anyone suggest some pallet/ghosting/ etc etc tests that i might be able to find online which we will help me do just this?

i cant recomend any that iv used but google is your friend.

use keywords to find reviews /specs on your monitor and also any tests or examples of setting up...


my samsung has game mode on it and after 100's of hours playing with it iv come to the conclusion the people at samsung had already spent far moor time than that setting it up so i use game mode.

hope that is of at least some help - even if its just to bump your post
