Decent TV Card?

Hi,

I'm looking for a decent pci tv card for the computer.

I want to be able to watch and record programs in high quality including digital freeview. I see many mention MPEG-2 recording, but what sort of standard is this?

I would also like some easy to navigate software so it is easy to view what's on and set up the recording of programs for days ahead, etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi mate,

I've used Hauppauge cards for several years with a good degree of success. I'm looking to build myself a PVR based around one such Freeview-compatible card.

With regard to TV planning, I used to have a decent bit of software called DigiGuide which I believe with some tweaking and fiddling could be made to interface with the WinTV software and do things like scheduled recording and reminders etc.

We'll talk about it on the booze cruise on Thursday!

After reading several reviews I've gone for the Nebula DigiTV. I don't know if they are having a special offer on at the moment, but I'm sure several months when I was looking at them they were around £100. Ordered one for £70 delivered.
