Decent TV tuner?

Is there such a thing? I'm looking for a usb tv tuner to stop my friend being raped in hospital by the pay for tv system, can anyone recommend one that is able to perform decently?

its not so much the usb tuner as they mostly all ok its the signal where you will have issues, if your not close to the transmitter you have no chance with a portable ariel, and the stick ariels that are supplied are a waste of time

Yes, I got a k-world usb tuner - great when wired to the roof but zero signal from the supplied antenna

Your better off with a seperate freeview or freesat box via HDMI to your monitor, thats what i use. If your monitor is a 1080p full HD monitor the HD source looks superb.

What's "close"? The hospital is about 3 miles from the transmitter.

you might get away with it then but with a small direction Ariel, and i suppose its where you will be located in the wards

hauppage is ok, most brands are of tv stick, manufacturers software is pretty **** personally use w7 media center

Yeah that's why I asked, I can remember the horrors of compro software, and that was a card not even a stick! I didn't expect their software to be better even now were using digital.
