Hi guys,

I've been bumming around trying to lay my hands on a decent video converter for a while now. I have an absolute ton of HD video that needs to be convered from .avi / .mkv into .m4v so it will go on the other halfs ipod.

I've tried Handbrake and DVDFab6 so far, both of them kind of do the job, but just feel a bit lacking.

I'm sure there are a lot of people on these forums who do a fair bit with HD video and stuff, so would appreciate any advice. Freeware is good, but I wouldnt mind something I need to pay for if its definately worth paying for, especially if it has multicore support.

Cheers

I use ConvertxtoDVD 4 and its awesome ,fast and does the job great also burns the dvd as well ..

If that AVS video converter does what it says on the tin it looks quite good and I'll be using that. I've just got a new camcorder that spits out .avis that don't seem to be compatible with my video editing software so I'm going to have to convert them first. :(

Would it be a SONY by any chance?
I had major problems with M2TS files.

Anyway, I now use MOVAVI.

WinX HD Video Converter, it even has a FREE license period at present so see my thread aboutit recently. IT uses all 4 cores and it very fast.

I tried AVS but it's not on offer and it also installs AVS update manager and AVS "Navigator" alongside Video converter with NO custom install option.
