Not sure sure if I'm in the right forum, but hey ho!

I average about 100 miles a month walking, mostly on footpaths, a bit on gravel and hardpack and grass.

Currently alternating between a perished pair of Asics Gel Venture waterproof trail shoes (sole is separating from the body), and a pair of Rebook Gore-Tex Astroride Trail shoes.

I'm now looking for something comfortable on a 10-15 mile walk, not necessarily waterproof, just something with really good cushioning, any recommendations please? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.

I've had Merrell in the past and they were decent, I tried Hotter and they fell to bits in no time, the Asics are seriously comfortable but poor quality, I just fancy a different pair of trainers this time instead of proper walking shoes.

I use whatever is most comfortable. I find this is the most important thing.

I like mizuno/asics best. It's the shoe that fits me best.

I have a trail pair, an pair for general walking.
(I have other trainers for "in town".)

Asics gel GT
And mizuno inspire

I also have a pair of icebug rb9x rover gtx for wet days.

I will not walk in boots. I absolutely hate boots. They are heavy, they hurt my feet and I've never had a pair I like.

My favourite by far for anything general. (ie not too technical). Unbelievably supported and comfy.

I'm going to order a pair of the Wave Inspire 18s today, are they true to size? Thanks.

Trainers arrived this morning, I've worn them around the house for half an hour and they feel great, now off for a little 5 to 10 miler to bed them in, thanks again for the recommendations. :)
