Decent wireless gaming mice

Having waited for the G9 for a while now, it looks pretty poor compared to the G7, and isn't even wireless.

My G7 has basically been dying a slow death for months with intermittent freezing for 10 seconds to 1 minute at a time. Totally ruins games. Anyone know of a decent wireless laser mouse suitable for gaming? I'd say the MX Revolution but that's more of an office mouse.

Things I like about the G7 are swappable batteries (I don't know how I managed having to charge my MX700 every day), the general shape, and the freedom of wireless. I don't know if I want to risk buying another one if it's likely to suffer the same problems as this one though.

I'd drop Logitech UK an email about your problems. May find that they'll replace it for free with a new G7 - they're pretty good when it comes to support :)

Dunno about what wireless to go for though - been on the look out myself for a replacement for my G7, but have yet to find anything :(

My G7 has been 100% over the last year and a bit I've had it, I'd just put it down to bad luck and get another one.

If the G9 has a wire, the G11 may be the same, but wireless?

i doubt they will call a wireless version of the G9 a G11 (assuming they are making one) because there is already a G11 keyboard and it will just be confusing to have 2 products using the same name

Not wanting to hijack too much...

My G7 batteries are gradually getting worse in how long they last, how sypathetic to this are Logitech?

If they did release an upgrade anyway I think I'd buy one and demote my G7 to my lesser used machine :)

I'll send them an email, just hope they don't need a receipt. I had a look on the Logitech forums to look for solutions but nothing worked so far. Quite a lot of stories similar to mine about the G7 working fine for about a year then giving up :(

Being L-Ion, they degrade over time, not use or charge cycles, you should expect them to last 18 months.

So there's no chance of sympathy from them? Because I've heard they don't have replacement batteries to send out

I though there would be, but a quick Froogle search comes up empty. Might email Logitech.

If it comes to it, I'll find the mobile phone battery that contains the same innards and swap the case over, L-Ion cells come in standard sizes.
