Hi,

Looking to get a decent wireless router/combined adsl modem. £100 is about the maximum I'd pay.

Eventually I will hook up my 360 to it but for now I shall use a wire. The wireless would just be for the laptop for now but I don't want to have to change routers again for when I eventually hook up the 360 to it.

So what I really need is a decent, reliable, easy to configure and manage router. Could anyone recommend one to me?

May I suggest a cheaper router and a set of the use your powerlines as a data stream carrier things.

Powerline products

These give wired ethernet cable speeds using the power wires in your house. I have these, they work at full broadband internet speed. Ie. Same speed I get at router to PC as PS3 plugged into one of these!

Great

how would i know if the outlets upstairs were same circuits as other rooms upstairs and also downstairs?

Doesn't seem to matter!

My upstairs and downstairs circuits are on seperate fuses from my fuseboard, but they then connect in the fuseboard to the main +ve -ve line wires.

They all connect in your house as long as all your juice comes through one electricity meter!

I like my Speedtouch 585v6. The wireless behaves flawlessly.

Id agree with you there icmale, the bebox is a good router, it needed very little configuring and it was away, when i tried it on xmas day the 360 had problems connecting to live, i think this was because of all the new users, and when i moved it away from under my telly it started working fine, lol.
