Hi all.

I'm planning a new build in the new year, and i'm not sure what motherboard to go for.

It will be for gaming, I will be overclocking the CPU and running SLi.

I plan on running an i5 4690K, and GTX970SLi.

Im not to sure what motherboard to go for atm.
I was debating the Asus Maximus VII Formula Intel Z97, i think it looks good and I like the option to add water cooling to the mosfets.

I haven't really planned a budget for the motherboard as such, but seeing as this board is £260, i suppose thats at the top of the Z97s price range.

On-board audio doesn't have to be great as I plan to install a separate sound card.

Cheers in advanced :)

Id agree with kefan77 here, and i own a Z87 maximus formula. Sure its a nice looking board but spending less will get you 90% of the features and oc ability. Also its a tightly spaced board for sli which can lead to temp issues with non reference cooled cards. If buying a Z97 board now id be looking at this.

Money saved could go towards a 4790k which will help with sli in a few games.

Cheers for your help guys.
The space between the pci-e slots wouldnt matter as such as I will look at water cooling the cards.

That gigabyte board looks good, i like the 4 years warranty.

Looks like my mind is made :)

Thanks again
