Wanted a fresh install, and had felt that my experience with Snow Leopard was quite a bit faster. Holy cow, was I wrong . Snow Leopard feels so much faster, I can't believe how slow Lion is. Safari is so bad in Lion - takes quite a few seconds to load up, playing youtube videos is a nightmare, opening new tabs is not instant. Total opposite on Snow Leopard. Everything is instant.

I've been carrying out some research, and it seems like a lot of people agree that Snow Leopard is the fastest OS X operating system out there. Does anyone else feel the same?

I also realised that Apple decreased the size of the close/minimise/maximise buttons in Lion. Nice to have them big again.

I will miss full screen app multi touch, but that's it. Snow Leopard is staying with me now. Unless ML is as fast as SL, which I very much doubt.

If it's any consolation, Mountain Lion is back to ridiculous speed :)

That said, I've never had Lion feeling slow on any on my machines :o

I can't tell the difference. I have lion on my imac at home which is older than the mbp I use for work with SL on it. The only thing that I notice/miss is mission control, but I've got three finger tap and expose setup on SL.

Both of my machines are running Lion. Can't really say that either machine feels slow. That said, am definitely looking forward to ML, and of course any performance improvements are always welcome!

Went from Snow Leopard to Lion - and although I wasn't impressed with it overall, I haven't noticed any performance hit...

Although I recently upgraded to SSD and it flys on that :p I wonder if Apple are tweaking it to run better on SSDs, they're the future afterall...
