After much though and deliberation I've decided to try and purchase a Integra DC2 Type-R. Its taken a bit of thinking about and trying to decide exactly what I want in a car but now I'm sure.

I'll have £7000 to spend and hopefully be looking for a 98 (or newer) with around 60K miles, hopefully in the Champion White. Just wondering if anyone’s had any experience with them? anything common I should look out for, common problems? Worth getting one after the "big" 60K mile service?

As far as I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong) there’s a UK and a JDM version, the JDM being an import (higher insurance, slightly different body trim but nothing else different?) The AC/Cat 1 Alarm and HID were all-optional?

Any comments are hugely appreciated!

That’s perfect guys thank you all! The forums were brilliant and another nice place to look at cars for sale.

g0th2000 - Thanks for clearing up a few things, defiantly given me a better understanding of what the differences are between the different specs, I've seen a few UK versions with a HID package on, after driving my calibra it would be a nice change to see where I'm going in the dark.

I've been trying to get a fairly un-modified car, I'm a big fan of the standard 15" white wheels, I can almost feel a tear in my eye after witnessing a few badly modded or changed DC2s.

I did think about the Prelude but for me it's just not in the same sort of league as the DC2, I think it's just a bigger uglier version which steps away from the type of car I'm after (good handling, "nippy", nice shape)

I'm sure people after reading that will come out with the "My mates prelude is faster than any DC2" or If I was to race you in my prelude I would win because it r0cks w0res n00rks, tbh I don't want those comments before anyone says them ;) (not that I'm haveing a go at anyone, but you know these forums!) I do like Preludes, just not nearly as much as DC2s, comfort will not be needed.

Insurance quotes I've had so far range from £771 up for fully comp protected no claims, which seems all right to me, I remember it costing over £1100 for my pug 106 only 5 years ago for TPFT!
